DENVER, CO  —  MES, Magna’s Executive Search division is extremely pleased to congratulate Charles Luby on his appointment as the new Worldwide Project Compressor Engineer for ResMed Motor Technologies.

Charles “Chuck” Luby is a well respected, and highly regarded Engineer with 20 years of active design experience in compressed air systems, designing both lubricated and oil free compressor systems. These compressors ranged from low horsepower, low pressure, high volume blower systems operating at 5 PSI to high pressure 4 stage reciprocating units operating at 6000 PSI up to 100 HP. His reciprocating compressor designs includes the design of both overhung and bicycle type crankshafts driving both tilt piston and lubricated wrist pin design pistons. Charles worked with industry leaders to develop oil control, combination and compression rings, pistons and accompanying cylinders. He designed both concentric ring and finger inlet and discharge valves using Swedish spring steel for maximum durability.

Boasting 25 years of collaborative teamwork, working alongside domestic and international engineering teams to deliver quality products on time and on budget. His experience is global, spanning from China to Mexico. In addition Chuck has conceived, designed, developed and released over 60 new products including engine driven and electric air compressors, power tools and pressure washers, for sale in industrial, commercial and retail sites nationwide.

Chuck holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and also comes with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. We could not be more pleased to see Chuck make an incredible impact on the lives of millions of people around the world!

SAN FRANCISCO, CA  — MES, Magna’s Executive Search division is extremely pleased to congratulate Justine Manaid on her recent appointment as the new Associate Director of Facilities (ADF) for Eden Housing.

Justine Manaid is a well respected, and highly regarded leader with 15 years experience in facilities management and operational leadership. Prior to her appointment, Justine had been with John Stewart (7th largest Affordable Housing Company) for over 14 years in progressive roles, starting out as an Assistant Property Manager, and currently as the Regional Manager overseeing 36 reports, and north of 1,000 affordable housing units as well as some commercial properties. She was responsible for both the Property Management and Facilities Management, looking after daily maintenance, capital improvement, long term reserve projects, rehabs and acquisitions, fiscal management, rolling out regulatory agreements, processes for tax credit, leasing, financial occupancy, and legal.

Justine brings a strong passion for education, partnerships, community development and diversification to her new role. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from the Dominican University of California. As well as an Associate’s Degree in Psychiatric Technician from Napa Valley College, and obtained a Psychiatric Technician License from BVNPT (Board of Vocational Nurses and Psychiatric Technicians). In addition to the above degrees and license, she also has COS, TCS, and REAC Specialist Certificates. Magna Executive Search conducted a national recruit for the Associates Facilities Director on behalf of Eden Housing.

Marianne Parkinson is a highly experienced, successful and well-regarded Senior Marketing Leader and Chief Experience Officer, who is adept at creating and launching customer-centric marketing strategies that emotionally connect, cultivate brand loyalty and grow the bottom line. She joins MarshBerry from Constant Aviation (CA) where she was the VP of Marketing and Brand Strategy leader. Prior to her role at CA, Marianne held the AVP, Marketing – Market Strategy title at USAA, where she developed marketing initiatives that supported the company’s member growth goals and launched the first-ever multi-channeled integrated campaign to increase member retention. Marianne gained experience throughout her career in financial services, banking, insurance, and investments. Marianne’s educational background is in Interpersonal and Public Communications and holds a BA Degree from Bowling Green University.

Prior to making the move east to the continue his career in the GTA, Kevin Massey was held in high regard as one of Western Canada’s most decorated Senior Estimators while establishing and elevating Wolverine Construction (Edmonton) to new heights of project success and brand recognition. As Wolverine’s General Manager, Kevin essentially wore the COO, Finance and Project Management hats and carved out a reputation as an extremely savvy business and ‘people first’ leader. Prior to his leadership at Wolverine, Kevin was a centrally important ‘Acting Principal’ at Alliance Excavating in Edmonton, where he leveraged his professional construction toolkit to secure a record number of new contracts throughout Alberta related in the heavy civil construction, water and sewer, utility services and infrastructure projects. Alongside Kevin’s project management excellence, he has worn prominent financial leadership hats throughout his career, while spearheading key strategic initiatives that have helped each organization secure new business and retain key clients while paying equal attention to safety and project delivery.

Kevin is especially proud of his leadership of over 120+ employees, key stewardship over a plethora of complex, multi-sector infrastructure projects while setting an industry standard for employee retention and vibrant workplace culture. With a Marketing Diploma earned at NAIT and a Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance from Athabasca University, Kevin joins York in this key VP role which is geared specifically towards ensuring project management excellence and new business development in keeping with the company’s efforts to fully launch its Environmental and Disposal verticals.

Gabriel Jimenez is a phenomenal gameplay and graphics programmer with nearly a decade of experience in game development across mobile, PC, and consoles, and is well versed in commercial engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity 3D. He has developed his career working at Digital Extremes, Gameloft, Cosmogonia Caotica, Larva Game Studios and Artefacto Estudio, and in addition to that, Gabriel has a passion for mentoring and leading teams with a background teaching courses in universities in person and online. Some noteworthy projects he has worked on include: Warframe, Dungeon Hunter 4, Cars: Fast as Lightning, Night Vigilante, Pocket Eggs, and Water Dare to name just a few.

Jaydee Jurgensen is a Finance and Analytics Senior Manager who has years of FP&A experience working in highly visible roles across three different industries RMH Franchise Holdings (Applebee’s), Southwest Airlines, and Omnitracs, a telematics software leader. He has experience analyzing marketing data including shopping, searching, and conversion rates. He has a plethora of experience in data analysis, FP&A, ERP implementations, forecasting and financial modeling. He is proud to hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a Master’s Degree in Finance, both from Concordia University. Throughout his career, Jaydee has proven to have the ability to see the bigger picture and find the trends or gaps for a business and taking those into actionable items and recommendations. He has a broad range of technical skills and tools including, Tableau, SQL, Alteryx, Adaptive Insights, Cognos, Hyperion Essbase, and Oracle, and is experienced in presenting his insights to Directors, VPs, and C-Suite stakeholders.

AUSTIN, TX  —  MES, Magna’s Executive Search division is thrilled to acknowledge Cory Chaney on his appointment as the Divisional Controller for Empire Communities Austin.

Cory Chaney is an experienced accounting and finance professional with a demonstrated history of working in the home building and land development industry, skilled in contract management, cash flow forecasting, auditing, accounting, finance, and financial analysis. He’s a strong accounting and finance professional with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) focused in Corporate Finance from Walden University. Corey has over 10 years of progressive experience, most recently with experience in the construction industry and prior to that was spent working for a mid-size regional public accounting firms. He has had full spectrum of Controller and Head of Finance responsibilities which include annual business plan and quarterly forecast preparation, month end journal entries, P&L management, budgeting, financial analysis and trend analysis, and SOX compliance.

During Cory’s time in home building and land development, he has worked with all facets of the business from overseeing the accounting and cost management for all development projects, preparation and presentation of financial statements for joint venture projects, managing the sales contract process and closing process and being responsible for all budgeting and forecasting exercises along with a plethora of ad-hoc reporting and analysis. He managed numerous accounting team members in his most recent position as the Head of Finance with Century Communities.

Paul Laoha holds a Bachelor of Computer Science Degree from Simon Fraser University, with over a decade’s worth of software engineering experience, leading and managing teams through the delivery of complex technology solutions and business requirements. Paul started his career in the mobile gaming app development space, and later transitioned away from gaming to focusing on commercial apps where his interests lie. He boasts an impressive portfolio of projects he’s successfully launched for house-hold name clients such as Coca-Cola, Google Pfizer, Cisco, Red Bull, Atari, Zynga, and filmmaking legend Steven Spielberg. RALEIGH-DURHAM, NC  —  Our Magna team is extremely pleased to congratulate Robert Sprogis on his recent appointment as the Senior Global Director of Mobile Products at Cubic Transportation Systems, a global provider of payment processing technology development and integration services to transportation agencies around the world.

Robert Sprogis has been working in the world of mobile since 2003 when he started building games on J2ME and BREW operating systems. The notion of paying for your coffee with your phone in 2003 would have been unimaginable, as phones back then still had buttons. But in today’s world, it’s almost a sin to not use your smartphone app or tap and pay at the point of sale. This is what Robert does, and this is where his passion lies, having worked in small startups all the way up to Fortune 10 doing everything from general mobile work to more specialized mobile payment systems. For every organization he’s worked in, Robert has directly led product roadmaps and strategy and has been responsible for budgets in excess of $30M. As the subject matter expert in all his roles, Robert has worked hand in hand with sales and marketing to not only help best serve the customer, but also best position the products for success.

BURNABY, BC  —  MES, Magna’s Executive Search division is thrilled to acknowledge Gino Flendescu on his appointment as the Quality Engineering Supervisor for Verathon Medical.

Gino Flendescu has extensive experience in Quality Management, Supply Chain Development, Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems. His areas of expertise include working with various QMS: ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, FDA 21CFR Part 820, internal auditing training, monitor QMS effectiveness, medical device design to prototype manufacturing. Outside of this, he has experience with Process Validation and Equipment Validations; performing IQ/OQ/PQ Protocols and Reports, FMEA, Traceability Matrix, Process Control Plan and Used Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools to monitor process variation. He has also defined quality and engineering requirements for product design, process Improvement, CAPA, engineering drawings, and first article inspection reports.

Gino holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and a Six Sigma Green Belt certification, as well as a Certified Quality Auditor diploma. We are confident Gino will make a true impact at Verathon Medical and spearhead the growth of the department.
